Why Sakshama is not just another box?
When I now think about Sakshama 797, few incidents strikes me and the whole experience of Sakshama 797 gets revived, I was in the marketing and publicity team of Sakshama 797, so it was of most importance for me if I could make Sakshama 797 the talk of the city. I just did everything I could do to get online publicity for Sakshama 797. I kept posting on each and every forum that I could find worth posting, I put the information of Sakshama 797 on almost all on all forums, especially of Rajasthan, as we were mainly targeting colleges in Jaipur. We sent posters of the event in almost 1000 college across the India, also we went to the colleges in Jaipur to create a hype of the event, some the team members visited Jodhpur, Ajmer, Alwar also. A phase came during the process when our efforts seemed like not working; it was mainly due to some timing problem. But then our efforts started fruiting, a phase came when online registrations started like raining dogs, being in the marketing and publicity team it is the only thing I was working for from past two months or so. And condition become so interesting that online registrations tend to crossing the figure we expected, so we had to take a bold decision to close the registration as it become impossible for us to handle such a large crowd. That moment really make me felt good and also convinced me that the next Sakshama is going to be a much bigger hit.
During the three days of Sakshama 797, everything goes very smoothly, I was at the registration desk and it was a great feeling to see crowd lined up for getting their registration done. Everything was according to what I imagined before Sakshama. I wrote about it before in my blog and truly it was same as I wrote there.
An incident I would like to share, which I think is enough for me to be proud of, for being a part of Sakshama 797. It was the closing ceremony of Sakshama 797, and the cultural events were going on, I was standing near the seats where many of the outsiders were sitting, they were really enjoying the event. We planned that at the end of the event we will announce the dates of next Sakshama, and along with that announcement we planned to fire up crackers. And when all that happened the timing was so perfect that everyone got amazed, it was really so great to see. I was standing near the outsiders, and one of the girl shouted, “this is called the perfect management, this is the planning, they have even started planning for the next Sakshama from now, amazing!” Her words came to me like a breeze of fresh air and all the tiredness of planning for the Sakshama 797 get vanished in a second. I wish Sakshama to be the brand name in the field of techfests, AMEEN!
